So here we are back again talking about the Rat Queens! I'm sorry but I can't help it, I just love the girls!
I can't wait to get their next volume in my hands... talking about next volume I got some news for you.
Image has announced the release of Volume 2 for the 11th of February 2015. Which is kinda weird 'cause about a week ago it was on the 17th of November 2014 and 3 days ago on the 17th of December 2014....
Yeah... I can't comment anything more on that...
Oh, Issue 9 was announced to be released on 17th of November 2014 too but got transferred on 10th of December 2014....
Issue 10 is still being announced for a release on 12th of December 2014... I'll check again next week to make sure... And maybe I'll keep checking every week...
And one more last but really big and kind of late news... Rat Queens are going to become a cartoon!!!
According to IGN's article on 13th of June 2014 Image Comics' Rat Queens -- which earned IGN's Best Comic of the Month back in January, by the way -- is getting the animated series treatment, thanks to Weta Workshop's Pukeko Pictures and Heavy Metal.
The studios plan on developing the books into a half-hour cartoon before pitching it to TV networks, Variety reports. Pukeko's Martin Baynton and Adam Fratto will produce the show, along with Heavy Metal's Jeff Krelitz. HM's David Boxenbaum and Rob Prior will executive produce.
"Rat Queens is a standout in the marketplace as a diving rod for fangirls, a market as yet untouched by most comics publishers," Krelitz said of the announcement. "It is not only perfect for the TV space, but much needed."
In addition to Rat Queens, Heavy Metal is also producing Peter Panzerfaust, another of Weibe's comics, in partnership with BBC Worldwide.
So, we'll just be waiting on hot seats for a little while...
